The impact of the coronavirus pandemic is disrupting high school students’ college plans. The tremendous upheaval in families, schools, and communities is causing a great many students to rethink how they do college. Many want to study close to home and inexpensively. Many students are also interested in dual enrollment as a way to affordably earn college credits.
The Virtues Campus is listening and meeting this need. Our students take college classes at a local church. Affordable tuition enables them to earn a college degree with little or no debt. Critical thinking skills are applied to pressing issues as racism and environmentalism. Academic pastors saturate their environment with a caring relationship which brings clarity to an education’s connection to careers. Through their partnership with Crown College, Virtues Campus students can easily take advantage of dual enrollment or traditional online options as a way to affordably earn an Associate’s degree.
Crown College is a four-year Christian Liberal Arts College associated with the Christian and Missionary Alliance denomination. Founded in 1916, Crown is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association, the highest level of accreditation a university can receive. Crown offers more than 40 on-campus Bachelor’s degree programs, more than 20 online Bachelor’s and Associate’s programs and over 10 online Master’s degree programs. Crown has been recognized for quality and affordability by U.S. New and World Report, MONEY Magazine.

Tuition costs for Crown College: (most are semester courses)
Crown College courses are normally $510/credit, but Crown offers Virtues Campus post high-school students a greatly reduced rate of $255/credit (50% discount).
Dual enrollment students (11th & 12th grade) from outside Minnesota receive an 83% discount. $83 x 30 credits = $2,490. (MN PSEO students are free.)
Most Virtues Campus students take 30 credits and 30 credits from Crown to earn their Associate’s degree in 2 years.
30 credits x $255 = $7,650/year
Crown charges a $150/semester technology fee
Books: Crown does everything it can to keep book costs down.
Most Crown courses have free books built into the class. Book
costs vary according to major as free books are more available
in some disciplines than other. (Approx. $1,316/year)
Post AA degrees at Crown will be given a 25% discount on their BA credits.
Financial Aid:
Virtues Campus students who complete the FAFSA could be eligible for federal grants and student loans.
Crown does not offer any additional institutional aid on top of the discount it already offers to Virtues Campus students.
